Baby cowries are hidden amongst the lace in this painting. Nestled in their new home, their essence subtle and good. Discovering cowrie shells has been in my family for generations. Such a feeling of joy and celebrating each time I’ve found one, hiding amongst seaweed or bold as brass on the tidelines.
